  • (1888PressRelease) December 10, 2010 - Niles, Ohio, - Having sold Braun, the leading brand of ambulances for over 23 years, Penn Care, Inc. is pleased to offer customers the all-new Braun Freedom ambulance. Built on a Spartan Metro Star chassis, the Braun Freedom is a result of innovation driven by user feedback from the EMS community.

In particular, fire-based emergency medical services personnel were requesting a "built to suit" ambulance design with a larger module that could carry more firefighting equipment. The Freedom is designed to offer superior outside storage space both in the cab and in the module body. In addition, this ambulance has all of the features and functions that make Braun ambulances the leader in the industry: the Braun exclusive Solid Body™ Construction, the Ez-Glide™ Sliding Door, the MasterTech III™ Multiplex Electrical System and the Braun exclusive Vital Max Lighting.

"Our approach at Penn Care has always been to listen to our customers. We try to find out what they need to help make their emergency medical services faster, better and more cost-effective. We partner with leaders in the industry to make these products and innovations available to our customers. Both fire and EMS agencies recognize the advanced craftsmanship and engineering design of Braun ambulances and count on our quality customer service at Penn Care. With the new Braun Freedom, we hope to better serve the needs of the EMS community, particularly personnel dealing with fire-based emergencies," says Shawn Bryant, President of Penn Care, Inc.

This new model is also a more durable emergency vehicle. Taylor Pease, Sales Manager at Penn Care, Inc. says, "Penn Care is very excited about the new Braun Freedom ambulance. With the Spartan Metro Star chassis, we are now able to offer our customers a unique opportunity to extend the life of their ambulance. The Spartan chassis is a platform that a majority of our fire-based EMS customers are familiar with. We estimate that by utilizing this chassis, we will be able to extend the life of the ambulance by two to five years. For our customers, this means saving the fire or EMS service a significant amount of money over time."

Penn Care, Inc. carries a variety of ambulances from Braun, including specialty ambulances and mobile intensive care units. The company also provides an Ambulance Assessment Tool (http://www.penncare.net/Portals/0/docs/PennCare-Ambulance-Needs-Assessment-Evaluation.pdf) that helps prospective customers determine which ambulance is best suited for their emergency response handling requirements.
