  • Salinas, CA (1888PressRelease) June 10, 2012 - Peninsula Tint and Window Coverings has been locally owned and operated since 1980. Owner Peter Aliotti announced he will be celebrating his 32nd year in business and the move to Sand City with a Monterey Peninsula Chamber Ribbon Cutting and fundraiser for Animal Friends Rescue Project on Tuesday, July 10th beginning at 5:30 p.m. at 460 Orange Avenue in Sand City.

Aliotti is passionate for his business and his two dogs who work with every day. His four legged friends, Cassius and Stella, join him in the office every day! Cassius is an 8 1/2 year old Boxer who has had his share of ups and downs but has fought through it all. At the age of 3 he had an extremely large fatty tumor removed from his head and at 4 he was attacked by another dog (92lb black lab) that hyper-extended his hind left knee. At 5 he was hit by a car doing 35 MPH hitting the same hind quarters. Since then he has limped and favored his leg and never quite been the same. Recently, he was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer. Cassius is currently in going through chemotherapy. According to Aliotti he is a champ and still comes to work every day. The second four legged office team member is Stella. She is a 1 1/2 year old boxer that is full of spunk and keeping Cassius young. "These two are inseparable and love each other to death," said Aliotti. "I initially got Stella so that Cassius would have a buddy and so he can help train her. I also hoped that she would pick up on all of his great habits. He did and she did. They have been great together. The connection is unlike any other I've seen."

It is Aliotti's connection to his four legged companions that led him to put together a ribbon cutting, celebration and fundraiser for other animals in need. During the Ribbon Cutting and celebration, Peninsula Tint and Window Coverings will be offering small bites from Sweet Elena's in Sand City and wine from Ventana Vineyards. Animal Friends Rescue Project will be on hand with dogs for adoption. From July 15 -August 15, Aliotti is willing to give 10 percent of Peninsula Tint and Window Coverings new business sales to Animal Friends Rescue Project.
