PCA Life Signed the MoU for the 'Chevening Scholarship' with British Embassy in Korea to Nurture Global Talents

  • (1888PressRelease) October 18, 2014 - On January 16th, PCA Life (Young-Jin Kim, CEO, www.pcakorea.co.kr) and the British Embassy in Korea have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for 'Chevening Scholarship' program.

    'Chevening Scholarship' program is set to train talented Korean students who will be able to contribute to the development of bilateral relations between two countries. Both institutions will cooperate together to conduct 'Chevening Scholarship' program here in Korea through the MOU signed.

    'Chevening Scholarship' is a scholarship program progressed by Britain's Foreign Office around the globe, PCA Life has been continuously supporting this program and providing selected Korean students with opportunities to study abroad for 8 years since 2006. Selected scholarship recipients receive one year tuition fee and living expenses for the Masters degree at the UK's leading universities. After they return, it is expected that they are supposed to grow as leaders in each filed of society. The number of scholarship recipients who have had benefited from PCA Life are 14 so far.

    Young Jin Kim, CEO of PCA life, said, "Through the MOU signed, I hope both institutions maintain a solid working relationship and be able to contribute to nurture talents in more extensive areas. PCA Life will continue to support scholarship programs to train future leaders in Korea."

    Scott Wightman, a British Ambassador, expressed his gratitude for the support from PCA Life and said, "We are very pleased that this year many more Korean students applied for the 'Chevening Scholarship' compared to last year. I am also very delighted that leaders from both countries agreed on education cooperation when President Park, Geun Hye visited the UK and met British PM David Cameron in last November. After this, it seems that many Koreans are showing their much interest about studying at world famous UK universities."

    Meanwhile, 'Chevening Scholarship' program in Korea sponsored by PCA Life is scheduled to conduct interviews during March to April for only those applicants whose application have passed the screening in last November and the final scholarship recipients will be selected in upcoming May. Those who are selected will be to start studying in the UK from this September.
