Patients at Mencap's Leicester Office Benefit from the Installation of Automatic Doors
Mencap announce the completion of a highly beneficial renovation to their Leicester office.
- (1888PressRelease) August 05, 2011 - Mencap, the leading UK charity for the support of those with learning disabilities are pleased to announce the installation of two automatic swing doors at their Leicester office.
Mencap offers free advice, information and support to people with learning disabilities as well as their carers and families.
Due to the nature of their patient's disabilities, a number of visitors to the office experienced difficulty opening the manual doors previously in place. Initial expectations are that wheelchair users and visitors with ambulatory difficulties will enjoy more freedom and independence from the new automatic door installation when visiting the Leicester office.
The doors were installed by local automatic door supplier; Automatic Access. In choosing a supplier and installer for the new door system, Automatic Access stood out as the obvious choice due to their locality in the Leicester area and their commitment to the Disability Discrimination Act of 2004.
To show their support for British charities, Automatic Access executed a plan to offer the installation at a fraction of the usual cost.
The Leicester company set aside time to contact their suppliers in order to secure the necessary equipment and accessories free of charge. The plan was successful. This enabled Mencap to support their patients further with this new and innovative change to their Leicester office, at a cost that will not hinder the outstanding level of service they offer.
As well as supporting those with learning disabilities, their carers and their families through everyday life, Mencap is committed to changing laws, challenging prejudice and supporting their patients in living their lives any way they choose.
