  • (1888PressRelease) November 07, 2015 - Party With A Plan: College Edition: The Guide to Successful Drinking (ISBN 978-1937753078, Blooming Twig Books, 2015) by internationally known speaker and consultant, Randy Haveson, M.A. is now will be released for mass distribution on November 6, 2015. It will be available in paperback and Kindle form. Based upon, Haveson's acclaimed program, Party With A Plan in which he has spoken to college students at campuses across the nation, the book version offers a proven, practical way to drink alcohol and be successful for college students. Party with a Plan utilizes a harm reduction model of low risk drinking choices while helping students identify signs and symptoms of a potential alcohol problem. Unlike traditional teachings for college students that says 'just say no' or uses scare tactics, Party with A Plan: College Edition uses research-based information to help students make better decisions in regard to alcohol. It also enables students to formulaically identify if someone has a drinking problem.

"Party With A Plan: College Edition is ideal for college students," said Randy Haveson, M.A., "After years of speaking to college students and teaching them how to party with a plan and to know the code of the plan, I am honored and humbled to see it become a book where I know its message will reach an even greater audience. Party With A Plan: College Edition: The Guide to Successful Drinking offers a real life plan on how to drink during the college years."

The cornerstone to Party With A Plan is the 0-1-2-3 code. The code includes:
0- Is sometimes the best option in any given evening. For example, if a student has a test the next day, if they haven't eaten, if they are on medication, if they are under 21, if they have been sick, if they are an alcoholic, if they have a low tolerance, and a variety of other reasons.
1- No more than one drink per hour (12oz beer, 5 oz glass of wine, or a 1 oz shot in a mixed drink).
2- Drink no more than 2 times per week. There is a significant difference in the amount of problems people have if they drink more than 2 times per week.
3- A student should have no more than 3 drinks any time they consume alcohol. The premise behind this is to see if the person is in control of the alcohol or if the alcohol is in control of the person.
