Paperworld Middle East Cements Position In Annual Trade Fair Calendar

  • (1888PressRelease) March 20, 2012 - After the second edition of Paperworld Middle East, this regional version of the global Paperworld brand has truly cemented its position in the annual trade fair calendar. Paperworld Middle East 2012 featured 247 exhibitors from 37 countries and welcomed 5536* visitors from 95 countries, with the top 5 visitor countries being Saudi Arabia, India, Oman, Kuwait and Iran.

    Showcasing a valid representation of the global paper products and office supplies industry, organiser Epoc Messe Frankfurt reported a 22% increase in exhibitor numbers at the fair which spread over 3 halls at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre

    Mr. Ahmed Pauwels, Chief Executive Officer, Epoc Messe Frankfurt was delighted with the results of the second edition. He said: "It is well known in the industry that the 2nd edition of any show is a really difficult one. It is a key time to consolidate the groundwork set out at launch event and can be make or break time for a trade fair. As our numbers as well as the positive feedback amongst our exhibitors and trade visitors testify, we had a very successful event and it augurs well for the future development of this global brand here in the Middle East region."

    Exhibitors and trade visitors alike expressed positive sentiments about the trade fair which has been classed as a valuable networking platform for industry professionals and an ideal event for introducing new products to the emerging markets of the region.

    Lamy, leading German manufacturer of stationery and office products who exhibited for the second year running was very satisfied with the exhibition. Karl Siegel, Export Sales Manager for Lamy, said: "This show is really recommended for companies who want to establish themselves in the Middle East region. We struck good deals and are in positive talks with other companies such as Office Depot and Virgin Megastore."

    Another return exhibitor was local company Farook International. President Farook A. Rahimtulla said: "We aim to double our exhibition space next year, as we are extremely satisfied with the response generated."

    Thirawit Leetavorn, Senior Executive Vice President for Double A, considers the exhibition as a strong platform for affirming your position in the region. He said: "By joining Paperworld Middle East we are endorsing our commitment for growth in the region.     Similarly interested in developing its regional presence was manufacturer of writing instruments Pelikan. Vice President and Head of Business Operations MENA in the regional office of Pelikan, Nasser Al Atrash, was impressed by the reach of the event, commenting: "At Paperworld Middle East you see many visitors from the GCC, Levant, Africa and CIS countries."

    In general, exhibitors reported a high level of visitor quality from a diverse range of countries across the region. Mark Dawson who heads up Dutch Micro Solutions Enterprises (MSE) in Europe, Middle East & Africa commented "We are pleased with what we have achieved in Dubai. It was a vibrant show and we were busy. We received visitors from all of the GCC countries and from multiple countries in Africa. These are all emerging markets and offer attractive growth opportunities. It was an exciting week and it will deliver new business for us."

    Additionally, exhibitors found that it is a significant platform if you want to enter the regional marketplace for the first time or spread awareness on a new product line. 1st time exhibitor Yves Revenu, President of French T3L Group (Tarifold), said: "We wanted to test the waters in the Middle East market and Paperworld Middle East has proven to be the perfect platform. We met a large number of quality contacts with whom we hope to do new business in the future". Launching his line of office solutions for the first time in the region at the event, Mr. Revenu added: "Our products were well received by the buyers and we are sure to be back here next year".
