Pan American Metals of Miami says There is a Good Chance That Gold Will Hit $2000 in 2012

Top Quote Market analysts claim likelihood of gold reaching $2000 next year 'better than 50%'. End Quote
  • (1888PressRelease) December 28, 2011 - MIAMI, FL - The last week of the year, with a shortened working week, is likely to be a thin trading time. Nonetheless, some market experts expect to see gold and silver continue to make gains this week. In fact analysts argue a 'better than 50% chance' that we will see gold at $2000 an ounce next year, which would be a gain of close to 25% over today's price.

The current economic turmoil should be very supportive of gold. In a situation where currencies are likely to be devalued, at least in real terms, gold offers a safe haven for investors interested in wealth protection.

"Gold bullion will hold its value no matter what happens to fiat currencies," says Bill Hionas of Pan American Metals of Miami. "Supplies of ore are limited and finite; there is considerable physical demand both from central banks and emerging economies. Silver also benefits from industrial demand."

Gold and silver bullion and coins have provided a feasible alternative to paper currencies for some time now and many would argue that they are, in fact, acting as money at the present time. Certainly they are easily tradable and are accepted virtually anywhere in the world. Due to its high value to weight ratio, gold is also extremely portable.

"We should also see a rise in platinum and palladium, particularly if the economy and the automotive industry prove to be healthy next year," says Bill Hionas. "Palladium, in particular, has made some notable gains lately; there is doubt about the reliability of future supplies and demand should remain strong."
