  • Charleston-North Charleston, SC (1888PressRelease) November 03, 2010 - Pam Hartley, Founder Momentum Marketing, announced today that she will make a television appearance on November 4, 2010 at 10:00a.m. on WCIV's (ABC News Channel 4) Lowcountry Live.

Hartley said, "I've been doing the basket brigade for a few years now and this year we decided to take it up a notch. We got all eleven Carolina One Real Estate offices to participate and we raised our goal to feeding 1300 families. Therefore, we need to make an even bigger push to get exposure on the basket brigade. So this appearance on Lowcountry Live almost guarantees the exposure we need which will in turn help us feed more Charleston families this Thanksgiving." She adds, "We're also excited about Piggly Wiggly's contribution this year. They have created a Facebook Fan Drive to raise funds for the local basket brigade. But what makes it so exciting is that it's more than just a fundraiser, it's a social media fundraiser! We're really looking forward to seeing the outcome of this fan drive."

The Charleston Basket Brigade is made possible through the efforts of Carolina One Real Estate, Piggly Wiggly, Communities In Schools, Momentum Marketing, many caring friends, families and community members. Carolina One staffers, agents and event volunteers raise money, assemble the meals at pre-set staging areas and deliver meals to the families. Communities In Schools, a non-profit drop out prevention organization with 20 counselors in 16 schools throughout Charleston and Berkeley County, locates the families that will receive meals based on need and maps out directions for delivery. Piggly Wiggly provides discounts on food, boxes, and coordinates delivery of the food to staging areas throughout Charleston. Momentum Marketing (Hartley's company) provides public relations and event coordination assistance. Four staging areas will be set up throughout the Charleston area on Tuesday, November 23rd, two days prior to Thanksgiving. Meals will be assembled and delivered that day. The meal includes a 10-12 lb. turkey, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, corn, green beans, sweet potatoes with marshmallows, cranberry sauce, a pumpkin pie, fresh rolls and butter.

In 2008, Hartley and Michelle Scarafile began The Charleston Basket Brigade with a commitment to bring the community together to provide Thanksgiving meals for Charleston families in need. The Basket Brigade is modeled after the Anthony Robbins International Basket Brigade, which is built on a simple notion: one small act of generosity on the part of one caring person can transform the lives of hundreds. Each assembled meal costs $30.00. Individual and corporate donations can be made online at www.charlestonbasketbrigade.com. All major credit cards are accepted and 100% of the donations go towards buying food. For more information on the volunteer effort, visit www.charlestonbasketbrigade.com.
