  • Salem, OR (1888PressRelease) April 30, 2013 - Pam Gray, Bonaventure Senior Living Chief Operating Officer, recently released the results of the company's 2012 campaign. According to Pam Gray of Bonaventure Senior Living, the family of senior living communities was able to raise a total of $151,250 for multiple local charities, as chosen by the residents of Bonaventure Senior Living communities.

The fundraiser offered new residents the chance to choose a 501(c)(3) charitable organization to receive a donation of $1,000, says Pam Gray of Bonaventure, given by the senior living community team at the time of move-in. The donation was made in the new resident's name, which Pam Gray of Bonaventure says allows residents to feel a part of supporting a cause they believe in.

To add to the campaign's reach, Pam Gray and Bonaventure staff extended the offer beyond new residents. As Pam Gray, Bonaventure Senior Living COO explains, existing residents were also allowed to take part in the fundraising campaign by offering them the opportunity to designate $500 to a charity of choice for referring new residents to one of the communities.

In addition, Pam Gray of Bonaventure welcomed each community to ask its residents to name as many as six local charitable organizations that the community should direct an additional gift of $250 per charity. Pam Gray states that Bonaventure also rewarded local organizations to refer residents to one of its communities, giving those 501(c)(3) organizations an award of $500 for each referred resident who moved in.

Pam Gray, Bonaventure COO, says in all, 286 gifts were awarded to charities in six states where Bonaventure has a presence. The communities gathered for an award celebration in which Pam Gray and Bonaventure staff concluded the campaign. The public was invited to attend the party, Pam Gray of Bonaventure explained, where residents and staff thanked the volunteers and local charitable organizations for their assistance with the campaign and presented donation checks.

In addition to funds generated by new residents, Pam Gray says Bonaventure Senior Living's home office added its own contributions totaling over $70,000 to the funds distributed to local charities. The fundraising mission was such a success that Pam Gray and the team at Bonaventure have decided to turn it into an annual event, with the next Bonaventure & You season beginning this fall.

According to Pam Gray of Bonaventure, the company launched the campaign after recognizing that local nonprofits are truly an essential part of the community. The best way to support the community, says Pam Gray, Bonaventure COO, was to allow residents to take part in choosing the charities the company supported. This truly represented the spirit of Bonaventure, according to Pam Gray.

Pam Gray is the Bonaventure COO, having joined the company in 2004. Today, Bonaventure manages communities in six separate states with a new community in Colorado Springs under construction and opening early next year. Pam Gray of Bonaventure has spent her career in service to seniors, having worked with senior living communities in various capacities for over 20 years.

One of the best things about Bonaventure Senior Living, Pam Gray of Bonaventure believes, is its family-like atmosphere. Each community has its own network of staff members and residents and these communities have become a tight-knit family over time. Pam Gray, Bonaventure Senior Living COO, is proud that the community caregivers treat residents as they would treat their own family members.
