  • (1888PressRelease) November 28, 2015 - With this aim in mind, they have introduced an extensive collection of "surprises" - unique and quirky gifts as well as experiences that people can take part in together with their loved ones to celebrate special occasions.

The latest addition to their wide range is the surprise "Adopt a parent". Through this surprise, people can sponsor the monthly expenses of an old age home on behalf of their loved ones. How it works:
    ● Order through their portal www.oyehappy.com for the surprise.
    ● They get in touch with the old age home and donate the money.
    ● The person who was gifted this receives a video of the home with a special message from the loved one who sponsored it. And of course, the truly priceless blessings of the elders.

Oye Happy has tied up with Kalyan Ashram, a not for profit elder's home in Assam, to make this happen. The home is run by a family and survives on donations alone. Most of the elders here were abandoned by their families. Being one of the very few old age homes in the North East, they take refuge here. At the Ashram, they live together working towards building a self-sufficient eco-system.

Says Varun Todi, the co-founder of Oye Happy, "People value memorable experiences over traditional material presents. Everybody wants to do their bit of good in the world but either have no idea how to go about it or are simply too hard pressed for time. We wanted to create a clear channel they can easily access. Sharing the joy by celebrating a special occasion with underprivileged elders only compounds it. And of course, our clients couldn't agree more."

The surprise has reportedly been very popular with their clients with enquiries coming in about sponsoring an entire year as well. This isn't the first social gift Oye Happy has introduced either - "Gift a smile" allows you to sponsor a meal for the hearing and speech impaired students of the NGO Ashray Akruti who come from disadvantaged backgrounds. This surprise too was very well received.

The Indian customer has evolved and so has the gifting industry with it. Oye Happy is one of the very few companies in the market that is keeping with the times.
