  • West Palm Beach-Boca Raton, FL (1888PressRelease) November 03, 2017 - On Sunday, November 5, 2017 over two thousand veterans and supporters of veterans will march in the largest Veterans Day Parade being held in Palm Beach County. Held for the past 10 years in downtown West Palm Beach, this year’s parade is expected to draw thousands of spectators to Clematis Street in honor of veterans in our community.

    “Our hometown Veterans Day Parade is a perfect way for the entire community, from all political leanings, to take a time out and come together to show our respect and appreciation for the men and women who have given and continue to give their all to insure the freedoms we enjoy as citizens of the United States of America,” said David Knapp, Parade Co-Chair & Vietnam Veteran.

    The Veterans Day Parade, produced each year by the Palm Beach County Veterans Committee, begins at 2 p.m. and travels from west to east on Clematis starting at Rosemary and ending at Flagler Drive. While the entire route has prime spots for viewing, the best can be found at the corner of Clematis and Dixie where MC Mike Trim from WPTV will announce participants as they pass. Spectators will also find info booths at Fountain Park including American Legion Post 199, DAR Seminole Chapter, Florida Dept. of Veterans Affairs, Freedom Veterans of America #11, Health Career Institute, Keiser University Spirit Squad, Legal Aid Society of PBC, Inc., PBC Democratic Veterans Caucus of Florida, PBC Veteran Service Officers, Palm Beach State College, Palm Beach Twirling Coalition, Palm Beach Vet Center, South FL National Cemetery, Veterans Health Organization, and Young Marines of the Palm Beaches.

    The mission of the Palm Beach County Veterans Committee, Inc., is to proudly honor through the Memorial Day Ceremony and the Veterans Day Parade our past, present, and future veterans in this our Country the United States of America.

    The Palm Beach County Veterans Committee is comprised of volunteers from local veterans’ organizations and community activists. They receive no grants or funds from any government agency and rely entirely on private donations. The Committee was established as a DBA by the Friends of Veterans, Inc. (FOV). The FOV is a Florida not-for-profit corporation, established in 1993, that is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. FOV is licensed to receive charitable contributions by the State of Florida.
