  • West Palm Beach-Boca Raton, FL (1888PressRelease) April 27, 2011 - When the Unicorn Children's Foundation put out a call for 'high rollers," you can bet they responded in droves.

Those words, printed on an invitation to a Unicorn VIP casino preview party at One Thousand Ocean, resulted in a turnout approximately three times of what the not-for-profit organization had anticipated: nearly 170 guests. It could have been because the evening's entertainment was casino gaming lessons as a prelude to Unicorn's Denim, Diamond and Dice Casino event just weeks away at a country club in Boca Raton. Or it might have been the One Thousand Ocean venue itself, located on the tip of a private peninsula where the Boca Inlet meets the ocean and Lake Boca Raton.

Along with participating in "play" gaming lessons, guests explored the spaces inside and out of the condominium building's largest penthouse. They enjoyed libations and delectable hors d'oeuvres, purchased raffle tickets and bid on live auction items, with a portion of the proceeds from merchandise sales being donated back to Unicorn. The occasion also provided the opportunity for Unicorn to recognize its annual award recipients and generous sponsors.

Jamie Telchin, LXR Luxury Resort's president of development, was pleased to have One Thousand Ocean host the VIP reception, even though he had to miss the party because he was in Manhattan filming the final segment of an upcoming episode of HGTV's "Selling New York." It will feature a top New York City real estate firm referring clients to One Thousand Ocean.

Standing in for Telchin at the reception was Stephann Cotton, broker for LXR Realty, LLC, who spoke briefly about One Thousand Ocean's notable success. "To date, just 15 of 52 residences remain. There have been 37 closings to date as well as three resales for higher prices than their originally purchase amounts. The year has been remarkable for this truly unique building." Cotton then introduced the sales associates, who stood ready to take interested guests on tours of two furnished model residences.

Cotton also acknowledged and applauded the outstanding work that the Unicorn Children's Foundation does in assisting children and young adults with developmental, communication and learning disorders to lead productive and fulfilling lives.
