  • (1888PressRelease) June 19, 2018 - Campus Consortium, the largest global education association of schools, colleges and universities, awards Edward Waters College (EWC) a $252,465 Grant to implement a Mobile Campus App for students and faculty. Located on the Kings Road corridor, in close proximity to downtown Jacksonville, FL, Edward Waters College is a private, historically black college whose future is lined with pride, growth, and success. Founded in 1866, it is the oldest private institution of higher education in the state of Florida. The College’s current enrollment is 839 students, with approximately 51% of the student body is male, 49% female, and over 90% of the students rely on financial aid.

Pleased to receive the grant, Dr. Nathaniel Glover, President at Edward Waters College shared what drove the institution to apply for the grant, " As we seek to include the addition of mobile accessibility, the College is implementing the next steps to create an intranet that can be utilized by students for registration, course and schedule management purposes. Student recruitment and enrollment and financial aid applications will easily be shared with the Department of Student Affairs with faster response time.”

He added, “Faculty and staff usage would include proper and faster tracking of documentation for human resource and business and finance purposes which currently do not exist at the College in a digital platform. The implementation would also serve as a return on investment in best practices of our ERP. Moreover, this effort will increase engagement with students, faculty and staff, alumni, donors, business and educational partners in the community”.

The Campus Consortium Grant will enable Logos Evangelical Seminary to build their official mobile app through the technology provider Unifyed. The mobile app will consist of 14 basic applets like Campus News, Emergency Numbers, Campus Events, Social Media, Maps etc. In addition, it will also feature Unifyed Applets for LMS, Academics and Unifyed Connect.

“This mobile app solution is bound to increase the digital capacity at EWC. We hope EWC accomplishes a significant increase in user engagement ensuring higher learning and teaching benefits from the personalized applets exclusive to the institution. We believe this will be an opportunity for Edward Waters College to grow and thrive. We wish them all the luck.”, states Anjli Jain, Chairman of the Campus Consortium.
