  • San Diego, CA (1888PressRelease) October 13, 2011 - Occupy North County is a people powered movement for democracy that begins in Encinitas on October 15. Inspired by Occupy Wall Street, we vow to end the monied corruption of our democracy.

This is a leaderless resistance movement with people of many colors, genders and political persuasions. The one thing we all have in common is that We Are The 99% that will no longer tolerate the greed and corruption of the 1%. We are using the revolutionary Arab Spring tactic to achieve our ends and encourage the use of nonviolence to maximize the safety of all participants.

As big a story as the Wall Street Occupation is, the media might move on if not for our public facing actions in every neighborhood, town, and city all over the country. Then the story about rage on Wall Street suddenly becomes a story about rage everywhere, the need for Jobs Not Cuts everywhere, the need for fairness. Our movement could take a great leap forward and explode into the consciousness of the country. These opportunities don't come around very often. We launched this movement because we saw the power of what was happening in Wisconsin and we pushed ourselves and we joined our strength to theirs. This is another such moment, but only if we seize it.

We welcome anyone who want to join this patriotic protest. Bring American Flags and signs.
