  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) December 01, 2010 - NYC Personal Trainer, Diane Williams, joins the Curvy Magazine staff to educate and inspire women around the globe about fitness and health and to create positive images in the media for women who are other than a size 2. The Curvy/Plus Size community is embracing the positive messages and images of Curvy Magazine. Curvy Magazine just launched on November 24, 2010 with over 10,000 Facebook fans.

Diane, who is not only a NYC personal trainer but a former plus size fashion model, explains, "A fitness revolution for the Curvy Woman has begun and I believe the fitness industry needs to listen to the 'Curvy' market. Just because we aren't a size 2 doesn't mean we want to lose weight. Fitness and health embodies so much more."

The word "Curvy" has been used recently in the plus-size/full-figured community to describe women who wear dress sizes in the double digits. NYC personal trainer, Diane Williams says, "We need to find words that will uplift and inspire women because for so many years the words 'fat' and 'lazy' have degraded this community."

To support this new fitness revolution, Diane designed a personal training workout in NYC especially for women who wear dress sizes in the double digits; size 10 and up. The personal training workout is called Curvy Goddess Workout.

The intention is to address the unique issues and desires of women with fuller figures, shifting the focus away from losing weight and being skinny to increasing stamina, strength, and energy. Curvy Goddess Workout One-on-One personal training integrates several exercise modalities; ie pilates, resistance, core, and cardio training to add variety, fun, and effectiveness.

Diane has been a NYC personal trainer for over a decade. She is certified by the nationally recognized National Academy of Sports Medicine. She is kickboxing certified by the International Sports Conditioning Association. She is a Lifestyle and Weight Management Consultant certified by the American Council of Exercise. Her clients vary in physical fitness levels, challenges, and age; clients with knee, shoulder, back injuries, weight issues, and osteoporosis among other physical challenges.
