Nutricap Labs Announces Launch of Holiday Season Food Drive Benefiting Island Harvest
Employees from Long Island-based organization aim to collect at least 350 pounds of canned and packaged goods for families in need this holiday season.
- (1888PressRelease) November 12, 2014 - FARMINGDALE, NY - Nutricap Labs, an award-winning provider of one-stop dietary supplement manufacturing services, proudly announced the launch of its holiday season food drive benefiting Island Harvest.
The firms' employees intend to collect at least 350 pounds of canned and packaged goods by Monday, November 24th. These items will then be distributed by Island Harvest to one or several local food pantries, soup kitchens, or other non-profit organizations that offer feeding services for those in need.
According to its website, Island Harvest is Long Island's largest hunger relief organization. Established in 1992 by Linda Breitstone, Island Harvest's mission has been to end hunger and food waste on Long Island. Since that time, it has delivered 71 million pounds of food, supplementing close to 66 million meals.
"This marks the third time that Nutricap Labs and Island Harvest have worked together during the holiday season to stamp out hunger on Long Island," said Vincent Tricarico, Chief Operations Officer of Nutricap Labs. Mr. Tricarico added, "Raising hunger awareness is imperative because so many people go to sleep at night literally starving. My hope is that our company-wide food drive will make a positive difference in the lives of those that are desperately in need."
