  • (1888PressRelease) January 21, 2014 - Through its projects and programmes, Aspire offers practical support to the 40,000 people in the UK who live with a spinal cord injury. The charity aims to help these people to lead fulfilled and independent lives in their homes, with their families, in work places and in leisure time.

"Each year, some 1,200 people become paralysed through spinal injury - and some of them become clients of the ENA Care Group," said Claudio Duran, ENA Care Group's CEO. "So, we decided to combine a get-together for our clients with a cake sale to see if we could help raise funds for Aspire's work.

"We were overwhelmed by the amount of interest we received - especially from those of our clients who have spinal injuries. They cooked and brought cakes to be sold; nearby office workers popped in to the event to buy some cakes and mingle with those attending, and some local companies and staff donated some raffle prices.

"When people - of any age - require a certain level of support in order to live their life to its fullest and they wish to remain at home among familiar surroundings, the ENA Care Group strives to provide the right kind of care for them," he added. "Our experience ensures that we can offer a variety of specialist care for each individual."

In addition to the attraction of the cakes on sale, a dating agency - owned by a one of ENA care Group's clients - and tailored to people with disabilities gave a presentation of its services.

    About the European Nursing Agency
The European Nursing Agency (ENA) Care Group is a family-owned care company which provides trusted and professional care at home via trained nurses, personal assistants and carers, many of whom live-in with clients. All of its clients need support - and want to remain living in their own home. They include people with spinal injuries or cerebral palsy as well as the elderly.

The organisation was founded, in 1994, to enable an inspirational lady - called Edna - to maintain her independence at home. It has grown to provide these services to others, helping those who need special, extra assistance in order to maintain as much independence as possible while continuing to live in their own home.
