  • (1888PressRelease) September 13, 2013 - Houston, TX - On Friday, September 6, 2013, notable political and business leaders gathered at Column A located at 1521 Austin St., Houston 77002 to join Pastor Keion Henderson of Houston's LightHouse Church (www.the-lighthouse-church.org) in an effort to raise awareness and garner support for his new partnership initiative, "Keion's Korner". Keynote speakers at the event included supporters and friends of the pastor like Congresswoman, Sheila Jackson Lee (D., 18th Congressional District), Mayoral Candidate, Ben Hall and the C.O.O. of TDJ Enterprises, Curtis Wallace (among others).

    The décor of the Column A ballroom set the tone for the night as one of importance and power as tables and chairs were dressed in gold and ivory dressings. Guests were greeted by photographers and media representatives as they entered the establishment and posed for pictures on the red carpet that eventually kicked off the night with an original piece titled "More X 4" from singer/songwriter, Kat St. John. Founded in 2009 by Pastor Keion Henderson, The LightHouse Church (14000 Weckford Blvd.) has quickly become a social force within the Houston community and beyond. The church is rapidly growing among the community, expanding from 139 charter members four years ago to over 2,300 members to date.

    "Keion's Korner" is a unique partnership program that will assist Pastor Keion Henderson in his endeavors and mission to spread the gospel through the "Four Korners of the World". The event outlined strategic economic and social initiatives needed to bring the mission to fruition and proposed a new partnership that will be both mutually beneficial to the cause as well as to interested members of the community.

    In asking for supporters to help him "take the gospel to the korners of the world", Pastor Keion Henderson was joined by some major political figures in Houston, who he also has the pleasure of calling friends. Mayoral candidate, Ben Hall, recalled an encounter and friendship that dates years back and expressed to the crowd the magnitude of trust he has in the vision Pastor Keion has to make a significant contribution to the world through his program, "Keion's Korner". Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee echoed similar sentiments as Hall and compared the young pastor to the likes of Malcolm X. and Dr. Martin Luther King in regards to leadership. She honored him with a Certificate of Congressional Recognition. In addition, his loving wife, Felecia Henderson, moved the crowd with words about his role in her life and his daughter's lives and guests Tina and Richard Polite and C.O.O. of TDJ Enterprises, Curtis Wallace, the production and publicity team behind famed pastor, Bishop T.D. Jakes, sang his praises and affirmed their preparations to support his endeavor to take the gospel to TV, books and several other outlets.

    The night ended with closing remarks from Pastor Keion himself who thanked everyone for coming by sharing words of gratitude. He further discussed his plan for "Keion's Korner" and explained how he hopes to connect and reach the generation that is causing a lot of the grief in the world as they are his generation and not that of the older pastors and religious leaders before him.
