  • Trenton-Ewing, NJ (1888PressRelease) February 19, 2015 - The Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ) has announced New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program, Inc. (NJMEP) as one of its 25 Champions of Good Works. The Champions of Good Works Awards honors New Jersey organizations committed to corporate philanthropy. Entries were evaluated by their overall impact, the number of employees dedicated to service and the value of their efforts.

    "We are honored to be recognized by CIANJ and support their mission to raise awareness about the importance of corporate philanthropy," says John W. Kennedy, CEO of NJMEP.

    NJMEP is a not-for-profit that helps New Jersey's manufacturers become more profitable. NJMEP's services are geared towards assisting state manufacturers increase sales, reduce costs, improve efficiencies and spur job creation. NJMEP's programs and services have helped New Jersey manufacturers realize more than $2.7 billion in value and enabled Garden State manufacturers to create or retain approximately 22,000 jobs.

    This year, the organization announced its Year of Advocacy Program, which included a pledge of $250,000 in value to NJ's business community. The pledge was accomplished through NJMEP's work with a variety of allies, associates and business partners to produce a range of new programs and initiatives at no cost for NJ's manufacturers.

    The organization will be recognized on Wednesday, March 11th at CIANJ's 2nd Annual Chairman's Reception. The event will be held from 6:00pm - 9:00pm at the Stony Hill Inn in Hackensack, NJ and the celebration's theme is Companies that Care: Giving Back, Paying it Forward.
