  • (1888PressRelease) February 28, 2023 - Reliance MET City, a company wholly owned by Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), is developing a new smart city on more than 8,000 acres of land in Jhajjar district, located near Gurugram in the state of Haryana. The development is focused on sustainability and eco-friendliness.

    More than 400 enterprises, both national and international, have established themselves in Reliance MET City. More than 25,000 people are already employed by the 22 operating and 42 under-construction businesses that have established operations in the township.

    MET City is a Japan Industrial Township (JIT) that is home to four major Japanese corporations, including Nihon Kohden, a significant producer, developer, and distributor of medical electronic equipment with subsidiaries in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Other Japanese enterprises in Reliance MET City include Panasonic, Denso, and T-Suzuki.

    Nihon Kohden's new factory in Reliance MET City is projected to be their largest production site in India, according to an announcement from the RIL subsidiary. The facility would be erected on 16,135 square meters of land in MET City in Haryana's Jhajjar district. It will be approximately four times the size of the company's current plant in Gujarat.
