New Professional Ski and Snowboard Wear Standard in China
A look at China’s new national product standard for professional ski and snowboard wear – GB/T 41176-2021.
- (1888PressRelease) April 07, 2022 - SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, is reminding stakeholders that China has released a new national product standard for ski and snowboard wear used by professional sportsmen and women.
Issued by the Standardization Administration of China, GB/T 41176-2021 was included in China’s No. 17 announcement of approved national standards in 2021. It covers ski and snowboard wear that is used in professional sports, but it is not applicable to clothing for infants aged 36 months or less.
Professional ski and snowboard wear is defined as garments with a specifically designed structure for skiing and snowboarding that are made from textile fabrics with water resistance, wind resistance and breathability properties. It covers both one-piece and two-piece items of clothing, depending on style, and includes garments that are:
• Single layer
• Single layer and lined
• Filled with materials
Filling materials must conform to relevant national mandatory standards, and down filling must comply with the provisions in 4.3.3 in GB/T 14272-2021.
GB/T 41176-2021 contains provisions relating to :
• Construction
• Internal quality
• Appearance quality
