New Love Story released by Samantha Sheridan

Top Quote As she sat at the window, looking out at the skyline and wondering why she had made this trip to New York, she knew it was a long shot that they had connected again. She should have taken her own advice and stayed home. Why had she even come? Sue had not been in a relationship with Mike for over twenty-five years and was not even sure why they were being brought together again. End Quote
  • (1888PressRelease) March 10, 2017 - Four months ago, Samantha Sheridan, the pseudonym for Pam Egbert held her book launch for The Silver Heart book at the 50th All American Quarter Horse Congress, Columbus, Ohio. Since that time the online book stores have sold out numerous times and eBooks are being purchased daily.

"When I wrote my book my love of horses had to be part of the story," Sheridan said. "At the time, we owned two Quarter horses and my daughter was showing horses."

Rather than change the names in the book for the Ohio Quarter Horse Association and the American Quarter Horse Association Samantha contacted the AQHA asking for permission to use their organization and their events in her book.

"I questioned Samantha about contacting them," James Bruce, James Paul Publishing CEO, commented. "We thought it might be easier to change the name of the organizations in the book and the events, but Samantha was determined to give the AQHA recognition for some of the work they were doing."

Bruce laughed, "She never ceases to amaze me in what she can accomplish."

"When I talked to everyone at the American Quarter Horse Association they were so nice to me," Samantha explained. "We always had Quarter horses, and it was just natural for me to put them in my book. When I was growing up, I rode my neighbor's horses, and they were all Quarter horses as well. I wasn't sure how the AQHA would react to my email, but they requested a copy of my manuscript and a week, or so later they sent me an email letting me use their organization and events."

"We kept the AQHA up to date on everything involved with the book," Bruce stated. "When Montana Silversmiths were added to the project Samantha was thrilled to see they were also a sponsor of the AQHA for their events and supplier of many of their prize belt buckles."

Last summer Sheridan contacted Montana Silversmiths about a silver heart necklace to use for her book, and a heart necklace was picked out. The silver heart necklace was released the first of July, and it was placed on the front cover of The Silver Heart book, as well as promoted on the Montana Silversmiths website.

In November, Samantha was contacted from the America's Horse magazine staff asking permission to do an article on Samantha Sheridan, The Silver Heart book project and one of the characters in the book, Pete Oen. After almost two hours on a phone interview, the beginning of the article was completed.

"Holly, from the AQHA, contacted me and asked for copies of any press releases I had about the book, pictures and anything else I had," Sheridan added. "I was more than happy to supply her with anything she wanted."

Another authorized person acknowledged in the book was barrel racing Grand Champion Pete Oen. The second weekend of November was the AQHA World Show, Oklahoma City, OK and Pete Oen won Grand Champion in barrel racing, Samantha said beaming. "I am so proud of all the work he has done and how far he has come with his barrel horse training business. I remember when he was showing at the local fair and helping other 4-H members." Pete Oen is a former resident of Wapakoneta, Ohio and now has a ranch in Ardmore, OK.

"The article on The Silver Heart book will be in the March/April edition of the magazine.

Bruce added, "We are glad this could be worked out for the fans of The Silver Heart book. You do not have to own a Quarter horse to be a member of the association, just have a love for horses.

The Silver Heart book can be purchased at any online bookstore. The Silver Heart is part of the Amazon Prime program so the book can be shipped in two days. Additional information can be accessed at www.egbertbooksandpublications.com, with links to some of the online bookstores. The New Knoxville Library in Ohio also has some autographed copies of The Silver Heart book and can request more if needed.

Samantha Sheridan is busy working on the next manuscript for book number two. "In The Silver Heart story the main character goes to see a gypsy who told her about her past life. This next book will go in that direction," Sheridan explained. "Some of the characters from The Silver Heart will carry over to book two because there are people who believe we meet people today who were part of our former life."

"The fans of my first book will find different characters and actions that were part of book one. You might even find a silver necklace in the next book. Does the love of her life give her a silver necklace? We will find out," Samantha said with a smile.

"The other day I was talking to Samantha, and we were talking about the book launch at the Montana Silversmiths, booth at the Quarter Horse Congress, and their silver heart necklace, her association with the American Quarter Horse Association and the great response she has received about her book. One of her comments made me smile," Bruce said. "Samantha said, "Who knew a small-town girl like me could have all these good things happening. All this seems like something that happens to authors who live in New York or L.A. I guess dreams can come true when you believe in them and work hard enough."
