  • Milwaukee-Waukesha, WI (1888PressRelease) April 18, 2012 - Milwaukee, WI A new line of true plug-and-play, adaptable laboratory bench systems is being introduced by A.T. Villa USA after being designed into the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery, which was recently named R&D magazine's 2012 Laboratory of the Year.

According to A.T. Villa USA spokesman Derek Matson, the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery selected A.T. Villa USA to design and manufacture the adaptable Bravo lab bench system to be the first of its kind to accommodate power, data, gas and water services all within a single vertical upright support. This true plug-and-play functionality enables end-users to easily add, remove, or modify quick-connect assemblies themselves, with minimal downtime.

"The Bravo adaptable lab bench system is the first one of its kind to provide laboratories with the fast, convenient, and flexible functionality that's critical for meeting today's need for rapid lab configuration," stated Matson. "Building and provisioning laboratories has become increasingly costly while development and testing windows are getting narrower, driving up the demand for laboratories that can be reconfigured on the fly."

According to Matson, the new line of adaptable lab bench systems is the first on the market to accommodate power, gas, water, and data lines all within a single upright, making it easy for the user to simply remove the upright's snap-in covers and access the quick-connect assemblies that connect to ceiling interface panels. As a result, lab benches can be easily moved around within a laboratory or from lab to lab to accommodate changing needs.

The Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery is an innovative 330,000-square-foot public-private facility that opened on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus in 2010. It was named international 2012 Laboratory of the Year by R&D magazine for meeting the highest standards in architecture, lab design, and "push-the-envelop" concepts in science buildings.

A.T. Villa USA is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Arredi Tecnici Villa spa, headquartered in Caronno Pertusella, Italy.
