  • (1888PressRelease) June 19, 2021 - Hella Late! with Hollie Harper, a late night show on Bric-TV, debuted June 8th at 10 pm ET. The show, hosted by tenured comedian and actress, Hollie Harper, contains sketch segments, naughty songs, women-on-the-street interviews, celebrity Q & As and raw and entertainment comedic moments. The late night show will continue to air every Tuesday at 10pm ET throughout the month of June.

Harper’s responsibilities extend well beyond just the show’s host, with credits including writer and Co-Executive Producer. The production team behind Hella Late! are all Black creatives with experience spanning over 30 years, including the showrunner, Okema Moore, and the head of production and development at Bric-TV, Kuyu Youngblood.

The inspiration for the show came to Harper after watching reruns of the David Letterman Show at the start of the pandemic. She immediately pitched it to Bric-TV, creating one of the only late night shows with a Woman of Color as the host. Many of the show's segments are inspired by Harper’s hometown of Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, where she lives with her husband Keith of over 22 years and their two children. The neighborhood has become a character itself, inspiring Harper’s comedy writing throughout her tenure in the industry.

“Like most people, the pandemic gave me the time to break down what is really important to me, and I’ve decided it is time to just focus on Joy; Black woman Joy, Blerd Joy and Black Joy period,” said Hollie Harper, host of the late night show. “These past few years have been a time of fire, sadness and change. Nothing soothes my soul like pure comedy, and I know a lot of people feel the same way, which is why I am excited to share my joy with everyone watching.”

Hella Late! with Hollie Harper airs Tuesdays at 10pm ET every Tuesday in June. Tune into Bric-TV on Fios channel 46, Spectrum channel 1992 and Optimum channel 70.
