Top Quote New internet users are growing at a rate of 40% or more per year. Few of these are internet savvy and unaware as to how much impact that scammers and spammers will have upon their success. Most business users do not have a risk management plan for internet crime which exposes their business, their employees, systems and their advertising budgets to internet scams and fraud. End Quote
  • (1888PressRelease) February 01, 2010 - The Internet Scams Anonymous Group (ISA) was formed because of being scammed and nearly 2 years of research into the magnitude of the problem. Many fine sites offer a broad how-to while other sites or groups focus on a particular type of scam or fraud such as paid to read or click, MLM, Nigeria, email fraud, identity theft, etc. Still others go to great lengths to provide lists of scam sites; however, no one has the resources to keep their lists up-to-date with rate of growth of Internet Crime.

With the number of new users on the internet growing at a rate of 40% per year, these new users are ill prepared and must beware that every form of offline scam has or will surely find their way to the internet and into their email account. The Internet Scams Anonymous Group provides support services for those that have been scammed to help them recognize and avoid the next scam or fraud. Research has shown that once we have been a victim, we are likely to be a victim again, unless we take some form of corrective action. Anyone, regardless of his or her credentials or experience is a potential victim.

For business readers, internet crime and spam can affect nearly every aspect of your organizations risk management plan, be it financial, operations, technology, employee productivity, etc. Your competitors can consume online advertising pay per click budgets.

ISA is valuable for those that have scammed, the new internet user or newbie, and those oldsters (but still want to learn) that are trying to grow their online business and be successful. We are anonymous because most of us are afraid to tell our friends, family and others that we have been a victim of internet fraud. Like other successful anonymous groups - as our member base grows, members will help members avoid the scams and help their fellow members be successful. We will share and learn from each others mistakes.

Too many of the new users are work at home moms and dads, senior citizens and others who just want to make some extra money, but their already limited resources are easily consumed by the scammers. Certainly many users are and will be successful online as long as they learn to avoid the eye-catching email headlines and sites that play to their individual need to make money online.

This group is new and was launched January 2010 with the primary objectives of avoiding the scams, to make money and be successful online.

Of course, we recognize that this is a big challenge and a worthy cause, but we are optimistic that we can help identify the scams, the scammers. We would like to introduce them to the fact that the same power that was given to them by the internet to scam or swindle others can be used to reduce their effectiveness and ability to take money from others.
