  • (1888PressRelease) August 04, 2017 - Did you know? There’s a long history behind the simple melody of ‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star’.

‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star’ first appeared in 1761 as a French song 'Ah, vousdirai-je, Maman'. Later it was adapted by the great musical genius Mozart in his Twelve Variations for Piano, KV. 265. Forty years later, in 1806, Jane Taylor published a couplet form poem called 'The Star' in Rhymes for the Nursery. Her sister, Annie, combined her verses with the main theme from Mozart KV. 265 in C Major. Finally, the widespread traditional British children’s song 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star' was born. The song not only retains the romantic theme and sprightly rhythm, but quickly spread all over the world with the beautiful English lyrics. This classic melody is already the world’s most famous lullaby today.

Today, leading contemporary fairy tale writer Mr Xin Wang has personally designed the most authentic version of 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star'. Each painting is based on an original English lyric, not only following the original poem rigorously, but also the melody and rhyme. Mr Wang’s version of ‘Twinkle, Twinkle,Little Star’, with its romantic, simple and rhythmical nature, manifests a depth of connotations that helps the original song to reach new heights like never before.

During more than two long centuries, this little star has been inspiring generations of children. It is the incarnation of sweet childhood memories, and carries the most innocent fantasy. Perhaps we do not hug lullaby to sleep anymore, but this little star still twinkles deep down in our hearts forever.

Please open this book and it will let you and your children wave the lightsome wing of night dream and, through hundred years, fly in the brilliant starry sky.
