New Children’s Book Spooksters: Stage Fright release date announced
On July 4th, 2026, the first installment in the Spooksters series introduces young readers to a spooky-cute world where differences become strengths and kids face fear through music, friendship, and creativity.
- (1888PressRelease) June 13, 2026 - Los Angeles, California and Phoenix, Arizona - Independent creators Thomas Corkran and Joe Plascencia announce the launch of Spooksters: Stage Fright, a new illustrated children’s book aimed at ages 4–8 that explores themes of anxiety, confidence, creativity, and friendship through lovable monster characters and music.
Set in the whimsical world of Spookywood, Stage Fright follows Jacky, a shy young werewolf who dreams of performing with his friends but struggles with overwhelming nerves. With encouragement from his new bandmates—the Spooksters—Jacky learns that courage isn’t about being fearless; it’s about facing those fears. Filled with colorful illustrations, humor, and positive messages, the book was designed to help children:
• Build confidence and emotional resilience
• Understand feelings of nervousness or anxiety
• Celebrate individuality and creativity
• Discover the value of friendship and teamwork
“Many children experience anxiety and shyness about trying new things or speaking up,” said co-creator Joe Plascencia. “We wanted to create characters that show kids it’s okay to feel scared-and that support from friends can help them shine.” Spooksters: Stage Fright is the first planned release in an ongoing series featuring music-loving monster friends navigating everyday childhood experiences in imaginative ways. The launch will also include social content, behind-the-scenes artwork, and opportunities for readers to join the Spooksters Boo Crew Club, a fan community offering updates, activities, and exclusive content.
