    Brett Herrmann was born and raised in Spring Valley, Ill. He attended Illinois Valley Community College before studying creative writing at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he graduated in 2015. He currently works as a writer for Kishwaukee College in Malta, Ill. and previously worked as a reporter and editor for the La Salle News Tribune and as a Public Information Specialist for Rend Lake College in Southern Illinois. Along with a background in writing both fiction and non-fiction, he has worked extensively in the fried chicken business.
