  • Springfield, MA (1888PressRelease) February 08, 2013 - Up-and-coming rapper, producer, filmmaker, and overall artist, Kyle Young, of Springfield, MA has just created his newest Masterpiece. After 2 long pain staking years, the "Peanut Butter & Mushrooms" (PBM) Mixtape is finally here. What separates Young from most other rappers is his journeyman, do-it-himself tactics. Kyle not only raps, but produces his own beats, and music videos. So just what is an interactive mixtape? A film school graduate, Young maximized his newly acquired YouTube partnership's enhanced features. He has used his secret formula including music production, graphic design, and animation to create the first official fully interactive mixtape. The mixtape opens with a menu listing each song that you can actually click on the Youtube video player screen, bringing you to another video that plays the song. From there you can click the "menu" button that brings you back to the Main menu where you left off at. Young wanted to do something unique. "In a day of so many rappers, it's hard to stand out. The competition is more saturated than ever. I was honestly just trying to do something different."

The audio mixtape is also available for download on the internet. Kyle Young's interactive PBM is new innovative classic. His music varies from hard hitting hip hop, to lighter stoner classics. Kyle Young is creating the mold for artists of the future.

Kyle Young has always been surrounded by art, whether it was the work of his artist dad Joe Young Jr. or music. But it's the music that has really moved Kyle. Born in Hartford, Kyle grew up in Springfield, Massachusetts. His grandfather's piano and then a Casio keyboard gave Kyle a way to express himself, creating his own beats and music. He began writing in freshman year at Cathedral High School. He made his first recording in 2004 with a friend, Dan "Scatterboxx" Sheils, who introduced Kyle to the idea of rapping. Kyle can be found creating compositions and expanding their realm with the moving image. Kyle graduated in 2011 with a BFA in Cinema and Television from Columbia College Hollywood in Los Angeles.

Kyle's groups have included Collabo and Soggy Rotten. His "Are You Sleeping?" music video, with Natasha Ramos, has been on national TV, and his songs have been used in films. Collabo's "Can You" was used in "Copper Penny" and "Morbid: A Love Story." Kyle's solo "Bang" can be heard in "Copper Penny". Kyle's "Blunt RIde" can be heard in the upcoming feature film "The Ivy League".
