    Doug Waterbury, Owner of the Renaissance Festival, has brought in several new acts and invested in a range of grounds and facilities improvements including the new "Moon Star Stage". The jousting field was completely refurbished, and also many infrastructure upgrades including improvements to the buildings and grounds.

    "I am really excited for this festival season," said Waterbury. "We have committed a substantial amount of time and resources to ensure that this Festival season is by far the best yet."

    Each of the seven weekends features has a unique theme, kicking off the season with Family Appreciation Weekend, which includes family-focused entertainment and special deals on tickets, including by an adult ticket, get another at half price or a free children's tickets. Pirate Invasion Weekend is guaranteed to be a swashbuckling good time with pirate bands playing throughout the festival. Fantasy, Fairies and the Future Weekend is a celebration of all things fantastical with sprites, fairies, mythical creatures and time travelers. Other themed weekends include Marketplace Weekend, Ale Fest Weekend, Highland Fling and Grand Finale Weekend.

    From the events that go on throughout the day-like jousting and circus-style performances to musical and minstrel groups, to delicious food, to world-class artisans offering hand-made wares-there is something for everyone at the Festival. The Sterling Renaissance Festival is one of the oldest and most successful producers of professional interactive entertainment in the world.

    The Festival takes place on Saturdays and Sundays, beginning July 4 through August 16. It is open from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate.
