  • Lincoln, NE (1888PressRelease) July 07, 2011 - This month, George Burl has a spelling problem.

His newest EP, "Rabbpt (He Misspelled Rabbit)," released this year on July 4th, is a rustic romp for any Bluegrass fan. The short album is perfectly matched in tone and feel with the southern tour he is embarking on this summer.
Burl, a Nebraskan folk/bluegrass musician with roots in Alabama, puts that southern heredity to work in the music he likes to call "goo grass." Using all the passion of Bluegrass, but adding his own frantic feel, Burl will be blowing across the South this summer for a small tour.

George can be seen playing at Berkely Bob's in Cullman, AL on July 23rd, donating all proceeds from the show to a local, tornado-devastated family.

He will be joined in performance by Elam Blackman, another soulful folk tumbleweed. A newspaper article and radio spot are in the works, and will be announced further via Burl's Facebook and Twitter accounts.
In August, he can also be seen performing in Memphis, TN, Vicksburg, MS, and Dallas, TX. More detailed tour information can be found at www.georgeburl.com.
