program, according to the results of the annual survey just announced in a special supplement of The Chronicle. http://chronicle.com/article/97-Colleges-Are-Recognized-as/123684/ . It is Nazareth's second year in a row being recognized as Great College to Work For. The Chronicle's Great Colleges to Work ForŪ program recognizes colleges (based on enrollment size) for specific best practices and policies, such as compensation and benefits, faculty/administration relations, and confidence in senior leadership. This year's survey is the biggest yet with about 43,000 people at 275 campuses responding. It found that colleges continue to do well at creating work that makes a difference, providing jobs that fit the individual, and fostering a high degree of institutional pride. But now colleges are accomplishing those things in an economy that has been in a long slump, and tight budgets seem to be eroding confidence in college leadership, the survey found.

There are 12 Great College recognition categories, such as collaborative governance, and compensation and benefits. Nazareth College was recognized in two of the twelve separate categories including: Confidence in Senior Leadership: leaders have the knowledge, skills and experience necessary for institutional success; and Tenure Clarity and Process: college has clear process in place describing tenure protocol.

"Our campus community is especially proud to earn national recognition among colleges and universities as a great place to work," said Nazareth President Daan Braveman. "This wonderful achievement is a real tribute to the devoted efforts of our entire faculty and staff. "
