  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) November 23, 2011 - There is nothing more rewarding than helping a poor child, except maybe helping millions of poor children for twenty years. L.A.-based charity, Children's Hunger Fund (CHF), serves needy children and families locally and around the world. On Thursday, Dec.1 at 9am, CHF will celebrate the past and step into the future, opening the doors of a new Global Distribution Center in Sylmar.

Notable individuals from political, sports, entertainment, and community circles will join together to dedicate the Global Distribution Center. VIP Guests will enjoy a tour of the facility, special music, and dedication ceremony. Best of all, they will put their hands to work, wrapping gifts for needy children right here in Los Angeles!

"Our goal is not just to celebrate, but also to unite important segments of the community. It's astounding what can be done when caring individuals with influence share one common goal," said Dave Phillips, President of CHF.

The move into this new Sylmar office just six miles from their former warehouse in Pacoima, will give the charity twice the storage space and the capacity to serve more children. It will also be the location for CHF's annual Toy Wrap where 2,000 individuals from the community will gather to wrap 70,000 toys for needy children.

"It is not a coincidence that our 20-year anniversary is taking place at the same time as this huge growth step and move into the new building," Phillips said. "We have been being prepared for such a time as this."
