  • Chicago, IL (1888PressRelease) June 28, 2014 - Dr. Valerie Partee, who holds a BA in Communication from Columbia College and an MA in Curriculum and Instruction, Administration/Supervision from DePaul University, and is currently completing a certification in Christian Counseling at The Sarasota Academy, spent more than 30 years in Education, Curriculum development, and Journalism. Since the beginning of her teaching career in 1986, Dr. Partee had desired to help families in need. She decided to finally fulfill this dream of hers in 2001 by forming her organization, Gateway To Success, Inc. NFP

    Working mostly with clients whom issues rely around anger management issues, Dr. Partee has counseled a myriad of people and families in Anger and Crisis Management, as well as Life Skills. She has worked with individuals from the ages of 5 through 75 and hopes to speak with more children about the power of self-esteem, bullying, and teen relationships, as well as large groups. She's also written a business plan to work with companies to maintain and develop top-notch Customer Service.

    Dr. Partee has had extensive training in Communications, Spiritual Counseling and Guidance, Education, and Supervision. Dr. Partee is particularly proud of her accomplishments in the local production of plays in which she has also acted in to fulfill her passion for the arts. Currently a fellow at The Life Center Church, a member of Can TV in Chicago, and still continues to produces a talk show from time to time. One of her latest and proudest endeavors included joining Second City, in Chicago, where she uses improvisation to teach the lesson in Crisis/Anger Management, Bullying, Teen Dating, and Family Structure. She also earned numerous awards; including becoming a judge for the Miss Illinois Plus America Pageant (MIPA), the winner that is chosen competes on the national level. In addition Dr. Partee has also served on school boards, and has taught secondary English at two community colleges as well as Governors State University. She was City Clerk for Olympia Fields, Illinois for two years, was assistant editor/staff editor for Chicago Mahogany Magazine from 1980-82. Dr. Partee is also licensed and currently sells in the real estate market in the state of Illinois, as well provides Notary services to public.

    Hoping to finish her book related to her work by the end of 2014, titled "Parents Don't Shrink Your Kids: They Won't Win If You Give Up!", Dr. Partee is excited for her future years in Speaking and Counseling. Her mantra is to "bring the family back to the dinner table," because (the) family today is so detached, and because of this we have the violence and disrespect of so many youth today.
