National Association of Distinguished Professionals Selects Ralph D. Lembo as Professional of the Year Member of the Executive and Professional Online Registry
Ralph D. Lembo, Director of Food and Nutrition for Ellis Medicine, has been selected as a Professional of the Year Member of the National Association of Distinguished Professionals. The selection recognizes Ralph D. Lembo's commitment to excellence in Health and Wellness.
- Albany-Schenectady-Troy, NY (1888PressRelease) October 02, 2013 - Ralph D. Lembo, who began his career in 1975 as an assistant manager for ARA, used his experience over the course of the next few years to earn himself a position as director of dining services at the young age of twenty-two.
Mr. Lembo went on to work for Hamilon College, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and DAKA, Inc. He was later recruited by Sodexo to take on the turnaround of a union account at Fairfield University that was losing more than $500,000 per year. Within just a year, Mr. Lembo was responsible for turning a profit of almost $200,000 and was awarded Rookie of the Year and Account of the Year in 1995 before ultimately being promoted to regional manager of operations for Sodexo.
Upon leaving Sodexo, Mr. Lembo became district manager and regional director of operations for Chartswells, Inc. At the peak of his career with them he was managing twenty accounts and $65 million in annual volume. He also earned the Account of the Year Award and two Gold Medals for Compass in the Community as reward for various community efforts in the greater Albany area that he and his team contributed to.
Now the director of food and nutrition of Ellis Medicine, the hospital dining service company feeds some five-hundred patients in three locations daily. Under Mr. Lembo's leadership, they are seeking to save management fees and operating costs by switching form a managed contractor to a self-operative concern. With long-term goals of building a solid record of establishing the dining service as unique, technically superior, and more cost effective than its contract managed peers, Mr. Lembo is eager for his future role and endeavors with Ellis Medicine. He also hopes to someday consult for small and medium sized operations in both the hospital and college venues in the future.
