  • (1888PressRelease) January 31, 2018 - KANSAS CITY, MO – The National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE), a member-driven organization that focuses on the positive development of esports programs at the collegiate level, has partnered with BeRecruited, one of the most trusted college recruiting platforms, to improve the recruiting process for prospective collegiate esport gamers and college coaches.

BeRecruited has added esports as part of its college recruiting network. The platform allows prospective esport gamers to create a free recruiting profile with all of their game stats, academics and video. Collegiate esport coaches from NACE institutions can create a free account with BeRecruited to search the growing database of esport recruits.

"Recruiting in esports has been a difficult process for many institutions," said NACE Executive Director, Michael Brooks. "The tools and systems in place for student recruitment in traditional athletics just don't exist yet in esports. More so, there are very few trusted sources where students and coaches can feel safe and truly supported. For these reasons we knew that NACE, as the governing body of varsity esports, needed to take action in the creation of these tools. Our partnership with BeRecruited is a big step in the right direction. Nearly all institutions with varsity programs are using this new platform and we encourage any interested students to sign up for their free account."

“We are thrilled to partner with the NACE, the premier governing body for collegiate esports,” said Reigning Champs VP of Business Development, Phil Wallace. “As more schools establish varsity esports programs, we are delighted to help students take advantage of the opportunity to play competitively at the collegiate level. Working with NACE will further assist in our efforts to connect high school gamers with college esports coaches.”

Collegiate esports growth has exploded in recent years. Since Robert Morris University Illinois established the first varsity collegiate esports program in 2014, more than 62 universities have joined NACE, representing 93 percent of all varsity programs in the U.S. and Canada, many of them offering scholarships to gamers.
