Nashville Religion Communicators Council Elects New Officers for 2011-2013

(1888PressRelease) May 24, 2011 - With morals in society finding ever deeper lows and materialistic pursuits reaching new heights, religion is sometimes relegated to back-burner status. But one organization is determined to further the impact of religion and faith-based activities on society.

The Religion Communicators Council (RCC) is an interfaith association of religion communicators at work in print and electronic communication, advertising and public relations. Through its thirteen regional chapters, RCC provides opportunities for religion communicators to learn from each other. "I grow in interfaith understanding from the open perspective of what others share," comments Laura Flippen Tenzel, Vice President at the national level of RCC.

The Nashville Chapter in particular has a growing membership and wide variety of programs. "We have to keep moving forward and keep growing," says Rev. Brian Fesler, Pastor of the Nashville Church of Scientology and recently elected President of the Nashville Religion Communicators Council. "RCC provides opportunities for us to get together and learn from each other, and in that way we help further the positive influence of religion on society."

Other officers elected in Nashville include: Carol Mansour with the Baha'i Faith who is taking on the role of Vice President for Programs, Judy Saks who is with the Jewish Federation and is taking on the position of Treasurer, Julie Brinker with the Church of Scientology will be Communications Coordinator and past president Laura Flippen Tenzel with United Methodist Communications will now serve as the Membership Officer.
