  • Bergen-Passaic, NJ (1888PressRelease) December 28, 2012 - What impact will Superstorm Sandy have on New Jersey's real estate markets and the region's economy in the near and longer term? How will federal fiscal issues impact the Garden State in 2013? These questions and more will provide the focus of discussion at NAIOP New Jersey's Annual Meeting & Economic Outlook for Commercial Real Estate in a Post-Sandy NJ, slated for Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Sheraton Meadowlands in East Rutherford, N.J.

As Sandy receded, it left behind many challenges, changes in the landscape, and emerging opportunities for rebuilding. Indeed, the storm's wake created a need for the real estate and business communities to think differently as we recover, reassess and rebuild.

The keynote will be provided by Matthew Erskine, Acting Secretary of the U.S. EDA (invited). A panel discussion lead by Richard Johnson of Matrix Development Group will include Lou Goetting, Gov. Christie's Deputy Chief of Staff (invited); Jim Gerace of Verizon; and Eileen Carey of Cushman & Wakefield. All will address the key issues of a post-Sandy economic landscape.

"As always, this event is an outstanding networking opportunity," said Michael G. McGuinness, CEO of NAIOP New Jersey. "This year, however, this event has taken on added importance because of the storm and, as always, providing our members with the latest news, information and insight is job one."

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with registration, cocktails and networking, followed by dinner and the program. To register, or for more information, contact NAIOP New Jersey at (732) 729-9900, or visit http://www.naiopnj.org/.
