  • (1888PressRelease) November 30, 2012 - MotivatePT also announced the winners of this years awards and donated the winner with a prize worth almost £4000. The Biggest Achiever Challenge is an annual competition hosted by MotivatePT to reward one individual who they feel has made substantial life-changing achievements to achieving better health.

Tony Richards, Commercial Manager at MotivatePT explains, "We receive feedback direct from all our personal trainers across the UK about the progress of each and every customer and we also hear direct from individuals who reach us about people they'd like to nominate. We encounter amazing people and such inspirational stories every year. We are proud to not only support but also to incentivise individuals to lead healthier lives."

Unlike many "biggest loser" competitions that focus purely on rewarding the person who drops the most weight, the Biggest Achiever Challenge focuses on other factors including recognising those that may have overcome extreme adversity to achieve their fitness goals.

The 2012 winner of a year of free personal training was Sarah from London, who battled for her life last year following a serious car accident that left her in a coma with doctors predicting she may never recover. Despite much adversity she did make a full recovery and whilst still suffering from partial paralysis she began her journey to better health and fitness, determined to get her body back. Her personal trainer Alex told us, "She is probably the most inspirational person I have ever met. She is never down-hearted, always positive and she treats each new day as a gift from God. She works harder to reach her health goals than any other client I know. This year she entered the Royal Parks half marathon and despite intense pain toward the later stages she completed the race and raised a substantial sum for charity."

Getting fit and healthy is not just about losing weight or fitting into a pair of jeans. As Richards explains, "For many, it is an expression of changing their entire lifestyle, beating adversity or just proving something to themselves. We are fortunate that every day we work with individuals through community outreach campaigns, up and down the country who want to change their health and wellbeing through fitness. It's a highly rewarding job for our team of personal trainers who are literally changing lives every day. In 2013 we hope to inspire even more people to change their lives and their wellbeing."
