  • Chicago, IL (1888PressRelease) June 18, 2019 - At the recent ITS America exhibition in June 2019, Mobile Mark Antenna Solutions featured multiple antennas that are well suited for the current wave of DSRC and C-V2X trials, including our slim-profile V2I (vehicle-to-infrastructure) DSRC bi-directional blade antenna.

According to Mobile Mark’s President and CEO, Michael Berry, “Bi-Directional Antennas channel radiation patterns in two directions making them ideal for providing optimum coverage along a highway or an urban corridor.”

The Bi-Directional Blade Antenna (BD-5900) can be mounted on a traffic light arm or on a Roadside Unit (RSU) or cabinet. This antenna contains two radiating elements within the single antenna housing. The two elements are combined into a single feed to be connected with the DSRC radio.

The thin profile BD-5900, has a narrow footprint and measures at 7.5” long by 1.5” wide by 3.93” high. It is rated for operating at temperatures ranging from -40 degrees Celsius to +80 degrees Celsius, and also meets the IPx7 standard for Water Ingress.

This bi-directional blade antenna operates in the DSRC frequency range of 5.85-5.925 GHz with 13 dBi bi-directional gain. The antenna has a maximum power of 10 Watts with less than 2:1 VSWR over range, and 50 OHM nominal impedance.

The BD-5900 is supplied with a Direct N Jack connector interface. Optional mount includes two small 5/8” mounting studs on either side of the connector. These mounting studs are bolted onto a surface with hex nuts to provide an anti-rotational solution when mounting the antenna.
