MLC to join the Oakland University INCubator for a lean healthcare event on September 28

  • Detroit, MI (1888PressRelease) August 31, 2010 - The Michigan Lean Consortium (MLC) along with the Oakland University INCubator is hosting a best practice sharing event on Tuesday, September 28th, from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.

    The author of Lean Hospital, Mark Graban will be leading this event along with other healthcare professionals. The MLC and Oakland University are sponsoring this event that will be a training day to learn more about practicing lean in businesses and its positive impact on healthcare.

    This exciting event will feature examples from various healthcare settings such as clinical, administrative, and manufacturing. Lunch will also be included. The cost for this event is $15 for non-members.

    "As someone who grew up in Livonia and still has parents and friends there, I always hope for the best for Michigan. It should be a source of pride that Michigan has some of the early success stories of Lean healthcare, thanks to involvement of people from the auto industry," said Mark Graban, author of Lean Hospital. "I am glad I can give back to further the spread of Lean thinking in Michigan and I'm looking forward to participating in the event."
