Millions of youth join MY EARTH MY DUTY Campaign
My Earth My Duty is a Zee News attempt to inspire, make aware & motivate everybody to do their bit to save our planet.
- (1888PressRelease) August 26, 2010 - "My Earth My Duty" - the nation's biggest and most widespread plantation campaign initiated by Zee News aimed at spreading awareness and knowledge about the significance of planting trees to stop climate change, has received an overwhelming response from the youth of India.
"My Earth My Duty" started with the view of educating masses about their role as well as their duty towards Mother Earth and has achieved its target of reaching millions of youth. The campaign is utilizing all media forms like television, radio, print, web and SMS to spread the message of tree plantation. The mediums are not restricted to a specific region but are reaching all, keeping in mind the lingual diversity. A series of ground events comprising of signature campaigns, rallies, skits and cultural activities by college students in the constituencies are promoting the cause. The support extended by eminent personalities at the ground events also motivates the youth.
Zee News is celebrating "Earth Festival" on 25th August and is going to plant millions of saplings across India. To achieve its goal successfully and in an attempt to reach out to maximum number of youngsters, Zee News joined hands with important and influential youth organisations like National Cadet Cops (NCC), National Service Scheme (NSS) & Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan )NYKS - an Autonomous body of Ministry of Youth). The plantation will be done not only in the urban areas but also in more than 2.5 lakh villages of the country. CRPF Welfare Association has also signed up for the drive.
