    Mayor Mike Duggan's leadership has embodied both innovation and resilience, steering the City through a tough financial crisis, with his leadership has restored core city services including the SMART regional bus system and the Detroit Medical Center. Since taking office in January 1, 2014, Mayor Duggan has spearheaded efforts to tackle key challenges facing Detroit residents every single day, including the city's blight, the improvement of public lighting, public transportation and public safety amongst many new initiatives.
