This new update is based on research by Prof. Pavlos Vlachos and his colleagues from Purdue University. It uses the correlation plane as a model for the probability density function of displacement and calculates the second order moment of the correlation (Sayantan Bhattacharya et al 2018 Meas. Sci. Technol. 29 115301.)

    Prof. Vlachos has published many scientific papers on uncertainty estimation over the years and has worked on improving the accuracy.
