The app also provides special compositions on their Windows 8 device. The app features an online music book, academy community, dashboards and assignment prompts. The online music book allows students to self-learn and class record and get in-depth audio feedback from teachers as well.

Amrish Goyal, Director, Windows Business Group, Microsoft Corporation India, said that they were proud to partner with the Shankar Mahadevan Academy to create that engaging and interactive app. They were sure that Windows 8 users would enjoy the app and it would give wings to many dreams.

Talking about the app, Shankar Mahadevan said that he was amazed at the clarity and convenience that he just experienced using that app on a Windows 8 device. The attractive user interface and clarity of sound would make any student want to learn music. The richness of his academy's app was superb that helped students take music learning from the desk to convenience on the couch or for that matter a bench in a park. He was extremely happy that they had partnered with Microsoft in bringing that to their current and potential students.
