MetroPCS Dallas White Rock Marathon Board Members, Sponsors to Visit Patients at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children

  • Dallas, TX (1888PressRelease) December 04, 2010 - Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children has been the primary beneficiary of the Dallas White Rock Marathon since 1997. This event will kick off race weekend and is a time for MetroPCS Dallas White Rock Marathon board members, sponsors, Dallas Police Department officers and special guests to visit the hospital. The event is a way to show appreciation to those who work year-round to make race weekend so special.

    TSRHC Patient Champions, who serve as young ambassadors for the hospital representing the thousands of children treated at the hospital each year, along with the 2010 Junior Race Director and TSRHC patient, Ryanne Carr, age 7 of Mineola, Texas, will sign autographs and pass out race T-shirts to fellow TSRHC patients.

    Voted the top marathon and half marathon in the state by Competitor Texas magazine, the MetroPCS Dallas White Rock Marathon features a scenic course that includes a flat and fast 10-mile loop around White Rock Lake, and is a qualifying event for the Boston Marathon. With a new start and finish in Fair Park, the 2010 race will provide runners, volunteers and family members with added parking and maneuverability, while maintaining the same great running experience it s had for the last 40 years.
