  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) June 16, 2012 - Rallying support for the services provided by Hillsides, a Pasadena charity, Rusnak/Arcadia presented the Mercedes-Benz Local Dealer Tennis Tournament. The tournament offered players an opportunity to serve both on the court and for the charity. Funds raised benefited Hillsides, a premier service provider offering behavioral health care and education services to vulnerable children and families in Los Angeles County.

"A tennis tournament geared for women in our community is a fantastic and competitive way to raise awareness and funds for Hillsides!" said Elizabeth Rusnak Arizmendi, vice president of public relations for Rusnak Auto Group. "The competition was fierce and thrilling to watch at Flint Canyon Tennis Club in La Canada Flintridge,"

Rosa LeClerc of La Canada and Lourdes Gonzalez of Whittier earned a spot at The Mercedes-Benz Dealer Championships, a nationwide amateur-only tennis program for players age 21 years and older. Players competed to represent the dealer team that will advance to the Sectional Tournament in the fall in Turtle Bay Resort in Ohau, Hawaii.

"Rusnak Auto Group presented a creative opportunity for people to learn about Hillsides while participating in this tennis tournament," said Joseph Costa, Hillsides chief executive officer. "We can always count on Elizabeth Rusnak Arizmendi to share her love for not only tennis, but Hillsides mission."
The tournament was hosted at Flint Canyon Tennis Club (FCTC), La Canada's best kept secret nestled away in the foothills of La Canada. This family owned business has been in existence for more than thirty years. It has been owned and managed by the Tamborini family for the past 11 years.
Participants were able to bid on fun auction items donated by The Factory Hair & Makeup Salon, AsomBroso Tequila, Déjà vu Spa, RejuvaYou and Cortiglia Bags. The event was catered by Scarlet Tea Room and Fine Dining and cupcakes were donated by Ah, How Sweet!.

Funds raised will support the services and programs offered by Hillsides, serving more than 7,000 children and families annually. Four core programs comprise the charity: Residential Treatment, Family Resource Centers, Youth Moving On, Hillsides Education Center.
