Withhin version 6.61 Mediapurge is released for almost all popular Linux distributions within german and english language.

In addition, in the last versions, numerous of new features have been added.

Mediapurge became a new comparison method, the "Mediapurge Image Fingerprint".
It is compatible with the "Mediapurge Acoustic Fingerprint" and allows Mediapurge to recognize duplicate images regardless of format, resolution, color and brightness corrections and smaller edits.

In the January release, a new tag editor feature was added.
The Tageditor now supports the identification of titles via acoustic fingerprint from the local database that is manged by duplicate search.

Thus Mediapurge, once it has analyzed all files, can assign newly added titles faster, easier and tag them automatically.
This is a comparison with your mediastock, not an online identification. Thus, as before, no data is transferred to external systems.

There was also an improvement: The file selection now also supports Drag&Drop from the Explorer.
This is especially helpful if you want to edit many single folders or files.

Instead of using the directory dialog, you can now simply drag and drop them into Mediapurge.

A few important bug fixes were also made.
One concerns the log of the automatic selection in the duplicate search. This was written in the wrong format after editing.
The other error concerns the deletion of tags in the tag editor, which caused unwanted results in certain constellations.
The list of all corrections and detail improvements can be found in the version history on the product website.

As always, the download can be done free of charge at http://www.peter-ebe.de .
Officially supported are Windows7 to 10, Debian, Ubuntu, Linux Mint, OpenSuse, Redhat derivatives like CentOS and Scientific Linux.
