  • Dallas, TX (1888PressRelease) July 17, 2013 - Mecca Design and Production, a dynamic scenic element and services design/build group, working with Freeman, created a giant scale T3® dental implant model for Bio Met 3i that is 100 times larger than actual size. This international company wanted a larger-than-life model to showcase at a trade show. Mecca made the model out of foam on their CNC router with computer precision, compressing a week of sculpting into 1 ½ days. Next, Mecca pieced the five individually routed pieces into one cylinder shape, glued it together, painted the detail, and applied a protective coating. Bio Met 3i, founded as Implant Innovations Inc. (3i) by periodontist, Dr. Richard Lazzara and engineer, Keith Beaty in 1987, is a global company with headquarters in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. As a leader in the dental industry, the newly release implant is designed to deliver aesthetic results through tissue preservation with new multi-surface topography. Mecca was able to help show the details of this contemporary hybrid implant by providing a way for trade show visitors to get up close and personal.

Kenneth Mecca stated, "It's great to bring something like this to life. We used our CNC router to get the details we needed to make it a showpiece for Bio Met's trade show. The dentist first drills into your bone to make the implant fit. Imagine if a dentist needed to make room for this huge implant we made; I don't even want to imagine what size drill bit they'd use!"
