  • (1888PressRelease) October 30, 2013 - On his own admission, Paul, who used to play rugby for Rosslyn Park and Esher rugby clubs, has been 'running all his life' but, until now, has never taken on the discipline of running a marathon. He explained: "My mother died earlier this year, of a heart attack, so I applied to the British Heart Foundation to run the London Marathon next year and raise funds for the charity - and they agreed."

Paul has pledged to raise at least £2,000 for the British Heart Foundation and has embarked on a training regime that, so far, is enabling him to run - non-stop - for 12 miles. He's confident that he'll reach the marathon's required fitness and stamina standards by next April - and his colleagues have already nicknamed him 'ME Construction's Forrest Gump'.

"Since this is part of ME Construction's corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, I expect many of my colleagues to sponsor me to help me raise funds for the British Heart Foundation," said Paul.

"And, since ME Construction specialises in refurbishment and conservation projects in London, I'll be able to keep any eye on our various projects as I complete the route," he smiled.
